What goes into the role of a Wedding MC?

The role of a MC is more than just standing in front of your beloved guests reading a script. It’s ensuring that planning from the get-go of your reception until your final departure is run with effortless professionalism.

Planning and Preparation

  • I meet with you both to understand the reception schedule; special announcements, and speeches, and customised moments.

  • I develop a detailed run-sheet for the event, including speeches, dinner service, and key moments like the first dance.

  • I can assist with speech writing, giving suggestions and worked examples.

  • I communicate with vendors such as the venue manager, DJ, caterer, photographer, and other vendors to align timing and cues.

  • I offer a PA system with two microphones.

Event Management

  • I greet guests at the beginning to set the celebratory tone and signal the end of formalities in a final farewell for the wedded couple

  • I introduce speakers, announce key moments (e.g., cutting the cake, bouquet toss), and keep guests informed.

  • I manage transitions from one event to the next and ensure that the schedule is smoothly maintained.

Engagement and Entertainment

  • I will maintain a warm, engaging, and upbeat atmosphere and will use humour or interactive elements to keep engagement and energy levels high.

  • I ensure guests are focused during key moments, such as speeches or the couple's first dance.

The price for my MC service starts at $220 for the first hour and then $100 for each hour that follows.
